Product Overview
Composition: AMLODIPINE+ATENOLOL 2.5MG+25MG
AMLOD-AT-H Tablet is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). This is a combination of two medicines that controls blood pressure when a single medication is not effective.Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker which works by relaxing blood vessels while atenolol is a beta blocker that works specifically on the heart to slow down the heart rate. Together, they make the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. It is used in the treatment of Hypertension; chronic stable angina; vasospastic (Prinzmetal’s or variant) angina. It helps to lower high blood pressure and thus reduces the chances of future heart attack and stroke.
Uses
It is used to treat:
- High blood pressure
- Chest pain due to narrowing of the blood vessels of the heart muscle
- Uneven heart beats or heart attack
Side Effect
Common side effects:
- Headache, dizziness, sleepiness (especially at the beginning of treatment)
- Palpitations (awareness of your heart beat), flushing
- Abdominal pain, nausea
- Altered bowel habits, diarrhoea, constipation, indigestion,
- Tiredness, weakness
- Visual disturbances, double vision
- Muscle cramps
How to use
Always take AMLOD exactly as your doctor has told you.This medicine can be used before or after food. You should take this medicine at the same time each day with a drink of water
Do not take AMLOD with grapefruit juice.
