Product Overview
Composition: Propranolol (10mg)
CIPLAR 10MG TABLET contains Propranolol which belongs to the group of medicines called Beta blockers. It is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), angina (chest pain) and arrhythmia (irregular heart rhythm). It can also be used to control abnormal increase in blood pressure and/or heart rate caused due to various underlying conditions such as anxiety, overactive thyroid gland, phaeochromocytoma (tumours of adrenal gland) or Hypertrophic Subaortic Stenosis (thickening of heart muscles).
CIPLAR 10MG TABLET primarily exerts its effects on the heart and improves blood circulation to the heart and to other parts of body. Therefore, it can also be used to prevent heart attacks and migraine headaches. It also controls shakiness of the body by blocking abnormal nerve signals between the brain and the muscles.

How to use
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Ciplar 10 Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
Avoid Ciplar 10 Tablet with high-fat meals such as olive oil, nuts & seeds (Brazil nuts), dark chocolate, butter and meat.
How It works
Ciplar 10 Tablet contains Propranolol, a beta blocker. It works by affecting the body’s response to nerve impulses, especially in the heart. It slows down your heart rate and makes it easier for the heart to pump blood around the body. This prevents arrhythmias. It also widens the blood vessels in the body for better blood flow, thereby preventing angina as well as migraine. The exact mechanism by which it prevents tremors is not known, but experts believe that Ciplar 10 Tablet helps block the nerve impulses to the muscles responsible for tremors. Propranolol helps block the effects of the chemical messengers namely, adrenaline and noradrenaline, that are produced by the brain and are responsible for increasing your heart rate which makes you feel anxious. This way it helps with anxiety. While treating pheochromocytoma, Ciplar 10 Tablet may be given to block the action of high-adrenaline hormones, to lower the risk of developing dangerously high blood pressure during surgery for removing the tumor.
What if you forget to take?
If you miss a dose of Ciplar 10 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Alcohol
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Ciplar 10 Tablet.
Pregnancy
Ciplar 10 Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
Breastfeeding
Ciplar 10 Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
