Composition: Ciprofloxacin (250mg)
CIPLOX 250MG TABLET contains ciprofloxacin, which belongs to the group of medicines called fluoroquinolone antibiotics. It is used in adults in the treatment of bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, ear and sinus, urinary tract, genital tract, gastrointestinal tract, skin and soft tissue, bone and joint as well as anthrax inhalation exposure infections. The medicine is also used in the management of fever in neutropenia-associated infections.
CIPLOX 250MG TABLET on prolonged use can cause an overgrowth of other non-susceptible organisms. The medicine may produce a psychiatric reaction when taken for the first time. Caution should be taken in elderly patients while taking CIPLOX 250MG TABLET as it can result in prolonged QT intervals.
Before taking CIPLOX 250MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are having kidney problems, neurological conditions, or heart diseases such as a tear in the aortic wall of the heart, bulge, or large blood vessels, leaking in the heart valves and congenital heart disease or myasthenia gravis.

How to use
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Ciplox 250 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Avoid Ciplox 250 Tablet with caffeine and chocolate as well as food containing caffeine and chocolate such as tea leaves, cocoa beans.
How It works
Ciplox 250 Tablet is an antibiotic. It works by stopping the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase. This prevents the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing them.
What if you forget to take?
If you miss a dose of Ciplox 250 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Alcohol
Consuming alcohol with Ciplox 250 Tablet does not cause any harmful side effects.
Pregnancy
Ciplox 250 Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
Breastfeeding
Ciplox 250 Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby. Baby should be closely monitored for development of fever, loss of appetite and diarrhea. In case, any of the above happens please inform your doctor immediately.
