E-pill

Emergency contraception w/in 72 hr of unprotected sexual intercourse or contraceptive failure. E-pill tablet contains hormone that is similar to the naturally occurring hormone progesterone, which helps prevent the release of an egg from the ovary.

- It may helps in preventing unintended pregnancy in the event of unprotected intercourse.
- It is a backup option for contraception in case of failure of other methods.
- This tablet is for emercency contraceptions that can be taken within 72 hours after the unprotected intercourse. However it is recommended 12 hours duration.

E-Pill has no long term or serious side effects. And is safe to use for almost every women. Some might experience nausea, vomiting and headache are some common side effects after taking E-Pill . you might have some lower abdominal pain or find your breasts more tender than usual. All this should stops with a day or two. There are chances of unexpected vaginal bleeding, but this is not dangerous and should clear up by the time you have your next period. E-Pill also might cause your next period to come early or later than normal. But if your period is delayed by more than a week, you should go in for a pregnancy test.

1 tab taken w/in or not later than 72 hr after unprotected intercourse. 
Another tab should be taken if vomiting occurs w/in 3 hr of intake.

e-pill supresses ovulation. You can’t get pregnant if you don’t ovulate since there’s no egg to be fertilized. It also thickens cervical mucus. The pill also works by thickening the mucus around the cervix, making it difficult for the sperm to enter the uterus and can affect the lining of the uterus, making it hard for the egg to attach to  the wall of the uterus.
