Composition: Leflunomide (10mg)

 

LEFUMIDE 10MG TABLET contains Leflunomide which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-rheumatics. It is indicated in adults for the treatment of active rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is an auto-immune chronic inflammatory disorder which affects many joints including those in the hands and feet. Symptoms include inflammation of joints, swelling, difficulty moving and pain, loss of appetite, fever, loss of energy and anaemia (lack of red blood cells). 

To make sure the medicine is safe for you, before taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you have any problems with your heart, kidneys, or liver. Also, tell your doctor of all the other medicines you are taking. Your doctor may recommend regular blood tests to check and make sure the medicine is not harming your liver or effecting your blood counts. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should consult with their doctors before taking the medicine.

How to use

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Lefumide 10 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How It works

Lefumide 10 Tablet blocks the action of certain chemical messengers that are responsible for inflammation, swelling and redness associated with certain autoimmune diseases. It suppresses the underlying disease process, rather than simply treating the disease.

What if you forget to take?

If you miss a dose of Lefumide 10 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Alcohol

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Lefumide 10 Tablet.

Pregnancy

Lefumide 10 Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor's advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby.

Breastfeeding

Lefumide 10 Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
