How to use
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet, as it is designed to release the medication gradually.
How It works
It works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that causes blood vessels to constrict and narrow. By blocking angiotensin II receptors, Losartan helps relax and widen the blood vessels, lowering blood pressure and improving blood flow.
What if you forget to take?
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
Safety Advice for Lotan 50mg
Pregnant patients
Losartan Potassium is not prescribed for pregnant patients because it may cause birth defects. When used in pregnancy during the second and third trimesters, drugs that act directly on the renin-angiotensin system can cause injury and even death to the developing fetus.
Kidney& Liver problem patients
It is not prescribed for those individuals withsevere problems. Reduction in dose by 50% is suggested in patients with impaired liver function.
ALLERGIES
It is not prescribed to those patients who have had a severe reaction to ARBs.
