Composition:Meropenem (500mg)
MEROBAX 500MG INJECTION contains Meropenem which belongs to the group of medicines known as Antibiotics. It is used to treat various bacterial infections such as pneumonia (including community acquired pneumonia and nosocomial pneumonia), urinary tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, gynaecological infections such as endometritis and pelvic inflammatory disease, skin and skin structure infections, meningitis and septicaemia.
MEROBAX 500MG INJECTION is generally not recommended in patients with gastrointestinal problems and hypersensitivity reactions. Consult your doctor before receiving if you are pregnant or breastfeeding women. MEROBAX 500MG INJECTION should be used with caution in children over 3 months old and in geriatric patients.
Uses
Used to treat bacterial infections such as:
- Pneumonia (including community acquired pneumonia and nosocomial pneumonia)
- Urinary tract infections
- Intra-abdominal infections
- Gynaecological infections such as endometritis and pelvic inflammatory disease
- Skin and skin structure infections
- Meningitis
- Septicaemia
Side Effect
Common side effects:
- Rash
- Headache
- Vomiting
- Nausea
- Itching
- Diarrhea
- Injection site inflammation
- Anemia (low number of red blood cells)
- Sepsis
- Constipation
- Apnea (absence of breathing)
- Shock

Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.
How It works
Merobax 500mg Injection is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from forming the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is needed for them to survive.
Safety Advice for Merobax-500Mg Inj
Allergy
Do not use MEROBAX 500MG INJECTION if you are allergic to Meropenem, antibiotics such as penicillins, cephalosporins, or carbapenems or to any ingredients of this medicine.
Pregnancy
MEROBAX 500MG INJECTION should not be used in pregnancy unless the benefit justifies the potential risk to the foetus. Consult your doctor before receiving.
Breastfeeding
MEROBAX 500MG INJECTION should not be used in breast-feeding women unless the benefit justifies the potential risk to the baby. Consult your doctor before receiving.
