Composition: Amikacin (500mg)
Mikacin 500mg Injection is an antibiotic used to prevent or treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. These may include infections of the urinary tract, bones, and joints, lungs (eg. pneumonia), brain, blood, among others. It is also used in hospitalized patients to prevent infections.
MIKACIN 500MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients with myasthenia gravis (severe weakness of body muscles). Before receiving MIKACIN 500MG INJECTION inform your doctor if you have kidney problems, hearing difficulty or tinnitus (ringing or buzzing in the ears), an antibiotic-related hearing loss or a mitochondrial mutation disease (a condition caused by variations in the mitochondrial genome).

Mikacin 500mg Injection is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
Breastfeeding
Mikacin 500mg Injection is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
