Composition:  Alendronic Acid (10mg)

OSTEOFOS 10MG contains Alendronic acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Bisphosphonates. It is used to treat and prevent osteoporosis (weak or brittle bones) in Postmenopausal Women. It helps to improve bone mass density in patients with weak bones and can also be used to treat osteoporosis caused due to excessive use of corticosteroids (such as prednisone). It also helps in the treatment of Paget’s disease (abnormal bone growth due to disturbances in normal span of bone cells). 

Osteofos 10mg Tablet is best taken without food. You should take it regularly at evenly spaced intervals as per the schedule prescribed by your doctor. Taking it at the same time every day will help you to remember to take it. Do not stop taking it until you have finished, even when you feel better. It may take several days to get the full benefit of this drug. Osteofos 10mg Tablet is only part of a program of treatment that may also include changes to your diet and taking calcium and vitamin supplements.
