Composition: Alendronic Acid (70mg)
OSTEOFOS 70MG TABLET contains Alendronic acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Bisphosphonates. It is used to treat and prevent osteoporosis (weak or brittle bones) in Postmenopausal Women. It helps to improve bone mass density in patients with weak bones and can also be used to treat osteoporosis caused due to excessive use of corticosteroids (such as prednisone). It also helps in the treatment of Paget’s disease (abnormal bone growth due to disturbances in normal span of bone cells).
Osteofos 70 Tablet is best taken without food. You should take it regularly at evenly spaced intervals as per the schedule prescribed by your doctor. Taking it at the same time every day will help you to remember to take it. Do not stop taking it until you have finished, even when you feel better. It may take several days to get the full benefit of this drug. Osteofos 70 Tablet is only part of a program of treatment that may also include changes to your diet and taking calcium and vitamin supplements.

How to use
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Osteofos 70 Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
How It works
Osteofos 70 Tablet is a bisphosphonate. It works by suppressing the activity of osteoclasts, cells that cause destruction of bone. This strengthens the bones and minimizes the risk of fractures.
What if you forget to take?
If you miss a dose of Osteofos 70 Tablet, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.
Safety Advice for Osteofos 70mg
Alcohol
Avoid drinking alcohol while taking OSTEOFOS 70MG TABLET.
Pregnancy
OSTEOFOS 70MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregenant women. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
Breastfeeding
Osteofos 70 Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby. If you are taking Osteofos 70 Tablet during breastfeeding, monitor baby's blood calcium levels during the first two months.
