Product Overview
Atopic dermatitis, often known as eczema, is treated with Tacroz Ointment. It functions by reducing the activity of specific immune cells that lead to skin inflammation (redness and swelling). In atopic dermatitis, this reduces itching and helps rashes.
The Tacroz Ointment is applied externally. It should be applied to the affected area 2-4 times per day, or as directed by a doctor. It should be rubbed into the skin after being applied gradually and uniformly. It shouldn't be used too frequently, and the treated region shouldn't be covered with a bandage or plaster. If the skin grows worse or if there is no improvement even after two weeks of treatment, you must tell your doctor.
Uses
- Prevention of organ rejection in transplant patients
- Moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (eczema)
Benefits
Preventing organ rejection in recipients of transplants
The drug Tacroz Ointment is categorized as an immunosuppressant. When your immune system perceives the new organ as an alien and attacks it, organ rejection occurs. This medication lessens the likelihood that your body will attack the donated organ by weakening your immune system, which often fights infection. Combining it with other medications increases the likelihood that your transplant operation will be successful. Until your doctor instructs you otherwise, you should keep taking the medication.
Side Effect
- Application site reactions (burning, irritation, itching and redness)
- Diarrhea
- Increased glucose level in blood
- Increased thirst
- Kidney damage
- Liver damage
- Nausea
- Stomach pain
How to use
This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and gently massage the ointment
How It works
Tacroz Ointment is an immunosuppressant. It works by suppressing the activity of certain immune cells that cause inflammation (redness and swelling) of the skin. This relieves itching and improves rashes in atopic dermatitis.
What if you forget to take?
If you miss a dose of Tacroz Ointment, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
