How It works
Fluconazole is an antifungal medication that works by interfering with the synthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of fungal cell membranes. By inhibiting an enzyme called lanosterol 14-alpha-demethylase, fluconazole disrupts the production of ergosterol, weakening the fungal cells' membranes. This inhibits their growth and ability to spread, allowing the body's immune system to fight the infection.
