Antistreptolysin O is a blood test measure the antistreptolysin o antibodies in blood.these antibodies are produced by the body in response to an infection by group A streptococcus bacteria ,which can cause illness like strepthroat, scarlet fever, and rheumatic fever.

Test Preparations
Your healthcare provider might tell you not to eat or drink anything for six hours before the ASO test. You also advise to stop taking some medicines like corticosteroids before providing blood sample for test. It may reduce your ASO antibodies which affect the quality of test rport.
