The Triglycerides Level test measures the amount of triglycerides, a type of fat (lipid), in the blood. The results help your healthcare provider assess your risk for developing cardiovascular disease. This test is also referred to as a Triacylglycerol test.
How it works
The Triglycerides test measures the concentration of triglycerides in a blood sample. After a fasting period, a blood sample is collected and analyzed using enzymatic or chemical methods to quantify triglyceride levels. Elevated levels may indicate an increased risk of heart disease or metabolic disorders, while normal levels help assess lipid and cardiovascular health.
